Basics

What are the dates of the retreat?

Monday July 21st - Saturday July 26th 2024 (6 Days, 5 Nights)

How do I join for the retreat?

That’s easy! Go to https://go.contentment.org/Retreat2024 or reach out to events@contentment.org to confirm a room type and number of participants, and we’ll process a booking for you.

If you can’t join Wellbeing Worldwide, but feel inspired to be connected to the experience, we are welcoming tax-deductible donations to help subsidize the travel, accommodation, and retreat costs for Contentment Foundation family members. Please visit the reach out to events@contentment.org for more information.

Can I arrive at the retreat late or leave early?

Our retreat is a carefully-crafted series of learnings and activities designed to catalyze personal transformation and community connection. It's meant to be a closed container from start to finish, so we typically do not accept reservations from participants who wish to arrive late or leave early.

We do offer the option to arrive earlier or stay an extra day to ensure a smoother transition when arriving and departing from the retreat.

Will there be time for me to work and take meetings during the retreat?

While we do have many breaks during the day for free time and personal integration, there won't be any designated working time. We have an "all in" mindset at Wellbeing Worldwide. We strongly advise participants to take a full break from their normal work activites during the 5 days of the retreat. This event is carefully-crafted to promote personal transformation and community connection through participation in all of our activities.

That said, we understand that obligations may arise that cannot be ignored. To support this, we have set up a private room with a dedicated Wi-Fi connection to ensure uninterrupted access. If needed, you can reserve a time slot with our event team.

Who will be on the trip with me?

The Contentment Foundation family is supercharged by a team of international experts spanning across dozens of disciplines. Educators, psychologists, philosophers, artists, programmers, scientists, and advocates have become inspired around a single mission – to bring indestructible wellbeing practices into every school around the world.

The Wellbeing Worldwide retreat welcomes all full time, part time, and volunteer Contentment Foundation members as well as their loved ones and friends to attend the July gathering. Contentment Foundation family members from all over the world will be joining the retreat. Guests will be traveling from Bhutan, Singapore, Costa Rica, India, Kenya, UK, Japan, USA, Netherlands, and Germany (just to name a few home-base locations).

We encourage all who are interested in learning more about the Four Pillars of Wellbeing Curriculum and Contentment Foundation projects to join us in Bali!

Flights

Which airport should I fly into?

Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS)

Where can I find affordable flight options?

We like to use a site called momondo that finds and compares fares from more than 1000 airlines and travel sites, giving you the best rates.

Also try using Google Flights, as you can track specific flight paths, and it can show you the price fluctuations across a period so you can see if the current price is above or below the average across the year.

What dates should I book the flights for?

Sunday July 20th - Sunday July 27th at minimum.

We recommend you arrive in Bali at least one day before the retreat starts (Sunday, July 2oth). Note that we will arrange a slate of optional pre-retreat activities for you to enjoy the company of all attending before we officially kick off festivities. We also strongly recommend that you stay for an extra day after the retreat to participate in our re-integration activities as you return back to your regular schedule.

The retreat concludes mid-day on July 26th, after which you can choose to journey back south to your post-retreat accommodation, which will take anywhere around 4-6 hours depending on the location, or stay an additional night at Mimpi Resort with our Contentment Core Team. If, after the retreat finishes, you need to fly out right away for schedule-related reasons, please do not book a flight earlier then 8PM on July 26th, to allow for enough time to get back to the airport.

I booked my flight! Where should I send those details?

After registering, you will receive a follow-up questionnaire where, amongst other things, we request your flight and pre- & post-retreat accommodation information, please fill it in there.

Alternatively, you can send your flight details, and your pre- and post retreat accommodation to events@contentment.org.

We will arrange a smooth airport transfer to your accommodation of choice upon your arrival.

Pre-Retreat

I am arriving early. Where should I go? Do you have any accommodation recommendations?

For the days leading up to the retreat, we highly recommend staying in the enchanting area in the middle of Bali, North of Ubud, called Munduk and Bedugul, a beautiful area in the hills surrounded by jungle and lakes, with many cultural heritage sites to visit. For people that want more activities, we recommend to stay close to Ubud, try and choose an accommodation on the outskirts, as traffic in the centre of Ubud is quite heavy these days.

Also, we will be organizing optional activities in the greater Ubud area starting the week before the retreat commences until the evening of the 20th of July so we can maximize our precious time together.

If you are in need of accommodation recommendations, we have curated a list of options for you, which you can access here.

We will be arranging complimentary group transport departing from Munduk, Bali, on July 21, 2025. On the morning of the 21st, we will coordinate with your hotel to arrange transport to the meeting point or provide a driver to pick you up. At the meeting point, you’ll be greeted and assigned to a group before traveling to the retreat venue by van.

Upon your arrival in Bali, we will add you to the Retreat WA group to facilitate coordination.

Please note that if you choose to arrive at the retreat venue early or stay outside the greater Ubud and Munduk area, you may need to cover additional transport expenses.

Our transport coordinator can assist with private driver arrangements at an additional cost.

Post-retreat

Is there anything happening after the Retreat?

Yes! We will have a post-retreat decompression and integration day after the event concludes. Our core team and any guests that opt to do so will be staying an extra night at Mimpi resort before heading out. After this, many of our retreat attendees stay on in Bali for several weeks, so there will be plenty of activities to do with your new Contentment Family members!
